Salt Lake City, UT – Emotions ran high in Behnken Field House as the Westminster Griffins closed out the 2024-25 season, celebrating their senior class in front of a home crowd. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Griffins fell 76-51 to a tough Colorado Mesa team, wrapping up their campaign with a 6-22 overall record (5-15 RMAC).
The energy of Senior Night filled the air, but Westminster struggled to find its rhythm early against one of the RMAC's top teams. Colorado Mesa came out firing, jumping to a 22-10 first-quarter lead. By halftime, the Griffins faced a 20-point deficit (44-24), unable to match the Mavericks' efficiency.
As the second half progressed, Westminster fought to rally behind the energy of its home crowd. Abby Conlee and Kayla Javillo each knocked down key shots, while the defense tightened to slow the Mavericks. Though the Griffins were outscored 17-8 in the third quarter, they responded with a 19-point fourth quarter, closing their season with the same fight and determination they had shown all year.
