Grand Junction, CO – The Westminster Griffins came heartbreakingly close to a road victory, falling 64-63 to Colorado Mesa after two last-second shots narrowly missed in the game's final moments.
Trailing by one with 21 seconds remaining, the Griffins forced a crucial turnover and set up for a potential game-winner. Despite two good looks, the ball didn't fall, sealing the win for the Mavericks.
Westminster trailed by six at halftime but opened the second half with a strong push, briefly taking the lead multiple times. The Griffins led 63-62 with a minute left, but late opportunities slipped away.
