Women's Basketball Announces Six New Additions for Upcoming Season

Salt Lake City, UT - The Westminster Women's Basketball team is excited to announce the addition of six new players for the upcoming season.

"We are excited to add those new players to our program. They will elevate our team to compete at a higher level. I am confident that they will impact our program not only on the court, but also off the court and will be a great addition to entire Westminster Community," said head coach Asami Morita.

Abby Conlee (Alpine, Utah) played at Lone Peak High School, where she was a four-year letter-winner and a two-time 6A All-State selection. She earned third-team honors as a senior, averaging 10 points and six rebounds per game. Abby played for Utah Valley University for 3 seasons, she will bring in that D1 experience and leadership to Westminster.

Maia Rhay (Draper, Utah) played high school basketball at Corner Canyon. Maia received All-Region honorable mention in her both Freshman and Sophomore years, then she was an All-Region selection in her junior year. In her senior year, Maia helped Corner Canyon to proceed to 6A State tournament semifinal. She was named All State 6A Third Team and All-Tournament team.

Matehya Aberle (Black Mesa, Arizona) comes to Westminster after playing at Pima Community College and Fort Lewis College. At Pima, she helped program to advance Elite 8 in NJCAA National Championship in her sophomore year. During her high school career, she was named the 3A East Region Player of the Year, 4 times East Region Champion, scored over 1,000 points at Holbrook High School.

Mia AuClaire (Salt Lake City, Utah) played at Murray High School, where she was named the Region MVP and team MVP, and selected for all-star game during her senior year. Mia scored over 1,000 points at Murray High School for the first time in school history and she is the all-time leading scorer for the program.

Nisa Ellis (Lake Stevens, Washington) played at Lake Stevens High School. Nisa brings impressive high school career to Westminster including two-time first team All-conference, Two-time state tournament MVP Game Awards. Nisa helped Lake Stevens to win Westco Championship twice in her 4 years. She was selected for Herald All Regional Team, Washington State All Star Team, and Puget Sound All Star Team and 4A All-star team west side in her senior year. She is also very active off the court as well, being named student of the quarter Sno-Isle award, national gold honors academic award, Top Citizenship awards. She also served as the president of Black Student Union for 2 years.

Olivia Tausinga (Salt Lake City, Utah) played at both East and Highland High Schools, excelling as a multi-sport athlete. Olivia's multi-sport athleticism will bring in aggression and competitiveness to the team.
