Denver, CO - On Saturday, the Westminster University Women's Basketball team stepped onto the court at Regis Fieldhouse to face off against Regis University, but unfortunately, the Rangers emerged victorious with a final score of 61-50. Despite a strong first-half performance by the Griffins, where they held a narrow 17-16 lead at the end of the first quarter and trailed by just two points at halftime, they struggled to maintain their momentum in the second half.
A successful third quarter by Regis proved to be the turning point, as they limited the Griffins to just eight points, allowing them to pull away and secure the win. Despite the setback, Teuila Nawahine showcased her skills with a team-high 12 points and six rebounds in 32 minutes of action. Za'kkria Robinson also made a notable contribution with 10 points and six rebounds, while Elizabeth Means and Marli Reed each added eight points to the Griffins' effort.
With their heads held high, the Griffins will now return to Salt Lake City to prepare for their upcoming matchup against MSU-Denver on Feb. 16. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM, and the team is eager to bounce back and showcase their determination on their home court.
