Grand Junction, CO - The Westminster Griffins men's basketball team traveled to Colorado for a face-off against Colorado Mesa on Thursday night. Despite a strong performance with 18 points and 10 rebounds from Drake Middleton, the Griffins fell short, 82-61 defeat.
The first half of the game saw the Griffins scoring 23 points, but they faced a 13-point deficit as both teams headed into the locker room at halftime. Despite a strong second half where the Griffins added 38 points, it wasn't enough to close the gap, resulting in a challenging night for the team.
Rylan O'Brien contributed with 15 points, while Pierce Sterling and Tyler Kurtz each added six points in the loss. The Griffins showcased resilience in the second half, but Colorado Mesa maintained their advantage throughout the game.
