Salt Lake City, UT - The Westminster Griffins Women's Basketball team opened RMAC play on Thursday night against Colorado State University Pueblo. Despite leading heading into the fourth quarter and scoring an impressive 21 points in the final frame, the Thunderwolves staged a late-game comeback to defeat the Griffins 59-58 at Westminster University.
With one minute remaining, Westminster held a 58-57 lead after an Abby Conlee layup. However, a costly foul sent Yara Garcia to the free throw line, where she calmly knocked down both shots to put the Thunderwolves ahead. A crucial rebound by Alisha Little in the final moments sealed the victory for the road team.
Teuila Nawahine led the Griffins with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Abby Conlee contributed 12 points and six rebounds. Maunayia Harrigfeld added 10 points and two steals in the effort.
