Grand Junction, CO - The Westminster Griffins Women's Soccer team concluded their regular season on Wednesday night with a hard-fought 1-0 loss to the second-place Colorado Mesa Mavericks. The lone goal came in the early minutes when the Mavericks converted a penalty kick to take the lead, which held for the remainder of the game.
With the regular season wrapped up, the Griffins now await their RMAC Tournament seeding as other conference games conclude tonight.
It took until the final match of the regular season, but the eight-team field for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship is set. The Westminster Griffins, clinching the No. 6 seed, will travel to Denver for a first-round showdown against the No. 3 seed, MSU Denver Roadrunners. The match is scheduled for noon on Sunday.
