Salt Lake City, UT – The Westminster Griffins are making history, securing their second consecutive trip to the RMAC Tournament for the first time since joining the conference in 2015. This year, they enter as the #7 seed, one spot higher than last season, and will face #2 seed Colorado Mesa on Tuesday at 7:00 PM in Grand Junction, Colorado.
"We set our goals last spring to return to the tournament with a higher seed. Mission accomplished!" said Head Coach Sue Dulaney. "I am very proud of the culture that's been established and the growth of the program. They've worked hard to get here, and we will be ready for the quarterfinals."
The Griffins had an impressive season at home, finishing 6-1 in RMAC play at the Behnken Field House. "Another one of our goals this year was to win all of our home games in conference play," Dulaney added.
Match up History
The Griffins and Mavericks have faced off twice this season. Colorado Mesa claimed both match ups, winning a four-set RMAC Regional Pod match in Salt Lake City on October 1 and sweeping the Griffins last Tuesday.
However, Tuesday's quarterfinal marks the first postseason meeting between the two programs, as Westminster continues its rise in the RMAC.
