Salt Lake City, UT - On Saturday night, the Westminster Griffins Women's Basketball team concluded a four-game home stand with a conference battle in the RMAC against Fort Lewis College. Despite a strong second quarter, the Griffins faced a tough challenge and fell 71-50.
Elizabeth Means showcased her all-around excellence, leading Westminster with an impressive 20 points and nine rebounds. Her defensive contributions were equally noteworthy, tallying three steals and a block to add to her impactful performance on the night. Marli Reed displayed her sharpshooting skills, contributing nine points, including three successful three-point shots.
However, Fort Lewis College's Kelsey Sorenson proved to be a force, securing a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds, leading the Skyhawks to victory.
As a team, Westminster showed accuracy from the free-throw line, going 8-9, and demonstrated their defensive prowess with seven steals. Despite the outcome, the Griffins are determined to regroup as they prepare to hit the road for a matchup against Colorado Mesa on February 1.
