Kenosha, WI - The Westminster Griffins Volleyball team embarked on a challenging journey to Wisconsin, where they participated in two games on the opening day of the two-day tournament hosted by Parkside.
In the first game, the Griffins squared off against Parkside, with Claire Cook leading the team in Kills with an impressive 15. Regan Jackson also made a significant contribution with 13 kills in the four-set contest. Abby Reardon played a pivotal role with three aces, while Leila Cornejo and Josie Gerritsen each added 20 assists to keep the team's offense flowing.
The second game saw the Griffins face off against Winona State, but they were unable to secure a victory, losing in three sets. Olivia Curtis stood out with 11 kills, claiming the team-high in this category. Breegan Huntsman made her presence felt with 14 digs, leading the team in defensive efforts.
Despite the challenges faced on the first day, the Griffins remain resilient. They aim to bounce back on the tournament's second day, where they will take on Purdue University Northwest at 8 AM and then go head-to-head with Minnesota State University Moorhead at 12:00 PM.
