Salt Lake City, UT - The Westminster Griffins women's soccer team showcased their prowess in their home opener at Dumke Field on Wednesday night, securing a convincing 4-1 victory over Hawaii Pacific University. Four different Griffins found the back of the net, highlighting their well-rounded offensive capabilities.
The scoring commenced at the 21-minute mark when Cassidy Jackson netted the first goal of the game, beautifully assisted by Kim Hendrickson. As the first half concluded, the Griffins held a 1-0 lead.
The second half saw the Griffins maintain their momentum, with Necie Gubler striking the net just three minutes in, amplifying their advantage. Alivia Preston added to the tally, once again benefiting from Hendrickson's assist. The final goal of the night came courtesy of Brooke Streeter, solidifying the Griffins' commanding victory.
In goal, Mashaun Estridge played a crucial role, making three key saves to secure the win.
Looking forward, the Griffins will continue their campaign on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 noon, as they prepare to face St. Mary's University.
