Durango, CO - The Westminster Griffins Volleyball team ignited the excitement in their conference game in Durango Colorado vs. the Skyhawks with a thrilling start, capturing the first set in a heart-pounding battle against Fort Lewis College. Despite their valiant efforts, the Griffins faced a determined opponent in Fort Lewis College, who managed to edge their way through the next three sets to secure the victory.
The first set was a true nail-biter, with the Griffins emerging victorious with a score of 29-27.
However, Fort Lewis College responded with determination, taking control of the subsequent sets (23-25, 22-25, 27-25) to secure the win. The Griffins, to their credit, never wavered in their effort, battling tough and displaying remarkable teamwork and resilience.
Oliva Curtis led the charge for the Griffins, demonstrating her prowess with a team-high 13 kills in the match. Regan Jackson also delivered a strong performance, contributing 10 kills of her own.
The Griffins showcased their collective strength in setting up their plays, tallying an impressive 46 assists during the game. Leila Cornejo led the way with 24 assists, orchestrating the offense with precision.
