DURANGO, Colo. – With 3:05 left to play in regulation, it was Hunter Doyle who scored for the Griffins to put them on top 13-12, but back-to-back goals by the Skyhawks crushed Griffin's comeback hopes in a 14-13 defeat.
The Westminster Women's Lacrosse team had a 4-2 lead in the second quarter of play after
Lauren Shoughro goal, but Fort Lewis College scored seven straight goals and took control throughout the second half. Four straight goals by the Griffins to end the third and begin the fourth helped spark the comeback journey at Fort Lewis.
Six different Griffins hit the back of the net for Westminster with four players adding two goals each.
The sophomore
Gabriella Cheminant stood tall in the cage making some big saves, 14 of them to be exact to help the Griffins keep it close in the second half.
