Griffins end their non-conference schedule with a win

Salt Lake City, UT - In an action-packed two-day event at Westminster University, the Griffins' men's basketball team demonstrated their prowess by hosting four teams. The weekend culminated in a resounding victory on Saturday night, as the Griffins defeated Navajo Technical with a decisive score of 92-74.

Leading the charge was Tyler Kurtz, who delivered a standout performance with a game-high 16 points and an impressive seven rebounds. The Griffins set the tone early, showcasing their sharpshooting abilities by sinking six three-pointers in the first half, securing a commanding 49-34 lead heading into halftime.

Chase Potter emerged as a consistent force for the Griffins throughout the weekend, contributing 13 points to the victory. Pierce Sterling displayed his all-around skills with 12 points and six rebounds, while Rylan O'Brien showcased his three-point prowess, finishing the night with 12 points.

The scoring parade continued, with a total of six Griffins reaching double figures. Clark Keynion notched 11 points, and Trey Wood added 10, highlighting the team's balanced offensive efforts.

The Griffins exhibited efficiency from the free-throw line, going 14-18, and an impressive 53 percent shooting from the field. With this commanding performance, the team now looks ahead to the conference season, set to commence on December 1st, with a road trip to face MSU-Denver followed by a matchup against Colorado School of Mines the next night.
