Salt Lake City, UT - 2023 has started off great for the Westminster Griffins, on Friday night in Utah it was the three point shot that was falling early for Westminster as the Griffins ended the night making eight three-point shots as
Trey Farrer led the way in scoring with 16 points on the night as Westminster defeated Colorado Christian 80-45.
It was a first half to remember for the Westminster Griffins as they knocked down four threes, put down a few dunks and played one nearly perfect half of basketball as they led 44-20 at halftime. Defense was one of the keys to success as the Griffins forced 11 turnovers which turned into points on the other end of the floor.
The Cougars had a tough night shooting the three as the Griffins defensive pressure flusters the visiting team all night as they only knocked down one three point shot in the first 20 minutes of play.
Jeremy DowDell ended the night with 13 points and two assists and
Drake Middleton was the third scorer in double-figures on the night as he dropped 12 points in the win.
As for the Cougars they had a tough night shooting from behind the three-point line as they finished the night 5-24, DJ McDonald was their leading scorer with 11 points.

The Griffins will head back to Westminster College as the new year will begin with back-to-back home games, as it continues tomorrow night with a matchup with Chadron State College with tip-off at 5:00 PM inside Behnken Field House.
