SALT LAKE CITY -- Eden Freiberg had a team-leading four goals and Westminster women's lacrosse (1-1, 1-1 RMAC) earned its first shutout win of the season in a 23-0 win over Adams State (0-2, 0-2 RMAC) at a snowy Dumke Field on Sunday afternoon.

Maddie Kelleher each tallied a hat-trick with three goals apiece.
The game's start was delayed by an hour after a winter storm caused accumulating snow on the playing surface a Dumke Field. After 12 first-quarter goals from Westminster, the two teams played the final 49 minutes and change with a running clock.
The Griffins took 21 first-quarter shots with 18 shots on goal while holding the Grizzlies without a single shot on net in the entire game. Westminster owned the face-off battles, finishing with a 24-2 advantage in draw controls for the contest.
Westminster will hit the road for the college's spring break week as it gets set to take on Rockhurst University on Thursday night at 5 p.m. (MDT) followed by a game at Missouri Western State Univ., next Sun., March 13, beginning at 12 p.m. (MDT).
