Las Vegas, NM –Donaval Avila had a career night for the Westminster Griffins Men's Basketball where he scored 30 points on the night, but it wasn't enough as they returned from the holiday break with a 77-73 loss.
Westminster played their first game back since shocking the RMAC conference after defeating Fort Lewis College at home a few weeks ago, but despite a strong performance by Avila, the Griffins had a tough night shooting the ball from behind the arch. The Griffins ended the night 3-18 from the three-point line as the Cowboys made 12 of theirs on the night

Trey Farrer ended the night with 17 points and seven rebounds in the loss where New Mexico Highlands were led by Dante Moses who led the team in scoring with 21 points, but the Griffins defense forced Moses to lose the ball seven times.

The Griffins will look to end the year 2022 on a winning note as they travel to Pueblo, CO with a matchup with Colorado State University Pueblo on Saturday night Dec. 31 with tip-off scheduled for 4:00 PM MT. The game will be broadcast on the RMAC Network.
