Salt Lake City, UT - Trey Farrer led all
scorers with 25 points and
Jeremy DowDell added 20. The Griffins cruised to victory over
MSU-Denver to capture their first win of the season and the first conference win as they began conference play.
The Griffins had a balanced scoring attack, connecting on 4-9 from three's in the first half, combined with a solid inside game that helped them jump out to a 41-28 lead at the half.
DowDell led the way with 15 points and Farrer was the other player in double-figures at the halfway point of the game with 11 points.
In the second half, the offensive production continued as the Griffins went 5-6 from beyond the arch and outscored MSU-Denver 48-24 in the paint.
Westminster had five players end up with double-figures including
Taylor Miller with 12,
Drake Middleton 11 and
Donaval Avila added 10 more on the night. Quentin Rock was the leading scorer for MSU-Denver with 13 points.
