Salt Lake City, UT -
Ashley Greenwood had a team-high of 15 points and three other Westminster Griffins scored in double-figures, but it wasn't enough as the Westminster fell to Northwest Nazarene 69-64 on Friday at the Behnken Field House as a solid fourth quarter wasn't enough to secure the comeback victory.
Westminster had to battle all game long as they didn't capture their first lead of the game until the fourth quarter of play as
Lyndzi Rich added 12 points for the Griffins, Elizabeth Means totaled 11 more and Jaycee Lichtie ended the night with 10 points and two of those gave the Griffins theirs at 56-55. Despite having a three-point lead with just under four minutes left to play, the NightHawks played tough and sound defense to cause the Griffins to lose the ball late in the game and control their lead to secure the win.
It was a slow start by Westminster as they trailed 13-3 to open up the first quarter of play, but their three-point shooting got them back into the game as they hit 6 of their 12 attempts on the night and made 12 of their 13 free-throw shots.
