Gunnison, Colo. - It was the final two-game weekend away from home for the Westminster Women's Volleyball on Saturday in Colorado, as the Griffins found a way to win set three 25-19, but that was the lone set they would win as Western Colorado took three out of fours sets to win the RMAC volleyball match on the night.
Western Colorado start the game fast and furious as they started the first set 3-0 and lead 12-4 as they took control early to become victorious in set one, In the second set the Griffins battled back and forth in a tie game for most of the match until a six-point stretch gave the advantage to the home team.
The Griffins controlled set three despite a late comeback by the home team late in the set as after it was tied at 18-18 the defensive pressure allowed one more point by Western Colorado in the 25-19 set win to give the Griffins some confidence heading into the fourth set.
It was a late push as the game was tied at 20-20, but the Griffins couldn't find a way to send the game to set five.
