Salt Lake City, UT - It was the Senior Day for the men's soccer team on Dumke Field as the Griffins honored four seniors as they took on
Colorado Christian University in their final regular season game in front of their home crowd of the Fall 2022 season and it was a game winning goal that secured the Senior Day victory as
Ole Songe scores the final goal in the final minute of play.
"These seniors have been so important to our program and it was great to send them off with a win like that and secure a home playoff game," said Head Coach
Josh Pittman. "What a great finish by Ole to get his first career goal! We have done a good job in finding ways to win this year."
The game started off with a Griffins goal by
Luke Merrill who helped the Griffins take the early 1-0 lead in the first half of play, but it wasn't the only goal the half as it was
Colorado Christian University who added the equalizer to end the first 45.
"I thought CCU made it very difficult for us," said Pittman. "Their pressure forced us to play tentatively for long spells during the game. It makes it a lot easier to learn from this with a win! "
