SALT LAKE CITY — Still seeking its first win on the young Fall 2021 season, Westminster men's soccer (0-2) makes its first road trip of the season this week taking on Northwest Nazarene University (1-1) on Thursday at 6 p.m. (MDT), followed by a match vs. Montana State Billings (1-1-1) on Saturday at 12 p.m. (MDT).
Game Info:
- Admission to NNU outdoor events is $5 for general admission.
- Children under 5 are admitted for FREE.
- Masks and face coverings are not required but are highly encouraged for any unvaccinated fans in attendance.

Scouting the Griffins:
- Westminster hopes to find its first win of the season after falling at home to Humboldt State, 2-0, and San Francisco State, 3-0, in last weekend's home openers.
- The Griffins out-shot Humboldt State 11-2 with a 3-1 advantage in shots on target through a scoreless first half against the Lumberjacks. Westminster finished the match with a 14-8 (5-4 SOG) advantage in total shots but was unable to find the net in its season-opener.
- Westminster conceded an early goal against S.F. State but again led 6-2 in total shots after 45 minutes of play. The Griffins continued to put pressure on the Gators' defense but were held scoreless again in the second half vs. S.F. State.

Ian Rose got the start in net for the Griffins against Humboldt State, making a pair of saves.
Noah Larkin got the nod in game two for the Griffins with one save on the night.
Scouting the Opponents:
Northwest Nazarene
- Northwest Nazarene split a pair of neutral-site contests last weekend at Dumke Field, defeating San Francisco State, 3-1 in its season opener before a 4-0 loss at the hands of Humboldt State on Saturday.
- NNU went 4-2-1 during its spring 2021 competition schedule. The Nighthawks went 7-11 (3-9 GNAC) in 2019.
Montana State University Billings
- MSU Billings opened the season with a 3-2 overtime win over Texas A&M International last weekend in Grand Junction, Colo.
- The Jackets followed up with a trip to the Colorado Front Range where they fell on the road at CSU Pueblo, 1-0, and tied 0-0 at UCCS on Sunday afternoon.
- MSU Billings played just a pair of matches in the spring after the Fall 2020 season was canceled and after going 8-9-2 (5-6-1 GNAC) back in 2019.
Up Next:
- Westminster will continue non-conference play next week with a trip to Wichita Falls, Texas, where it will take on Midwestern State University Texas on Thursday, Sept. 16, and Texas A&M International on Saturday, Sept. 18.
- The Griffins will end the month with a pair of non-conference ties against RMAC opponents. Colorado Mesa will travel to play at Dumke Field on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m., and the Griffins travel to face Fort Lewis College on Sunday, Sept. 26, at 2:30 p.m. (MDT).
