Women's Soccer Prepped for Weekend RMAC Road Trip

Westminster (RV) will travel to take on fifth-ranked UCCS on Friday followed by CSU Pueblo on Sunday.

SALT LAKE CITY - Unbeaten Westminster women's soccer (RV) (4-0-1, 1-0 RMAC) will look to build on last week's 1-0 win in its conference opener with a weekend trip to Colorado to take on fifth-ranked Univ. of Colorado- Colorado Springs (7-1, 2-0 RMAC) on Friday at 11 a.m., followed by a match at CSU Pueblo (3-4, 2-0 RMAC) on Sunday at 12 p.m.

About the Griffins:
- Westminster continues to ride a five-match unbeaten streak to begin the season with the help of RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week, Kelsea Cracroft, who has yet to allow a goal en route a 4-0 record in net to begin the year for the Griffins.
- The Griffins defeated MSU Denver, 1-0 last Thursday in their first RMAC match of the season at Dumke Field with the help of Dominique Estrada's first goal of the season.
- Aimee Kurfurst heads into the week as the only Griffin with multiple goals scored (2) as five different field players have scored over the first five matches of the season.
- Westminster's left winger, Rebecca Wheeler, leads the team with five assists on the season while attacking midfielder, Alexa Maple, has helped set the pace of the Griffins' attack offensively and added two assists so far this season.
- Westminster received votes in this week's USCA National Coaches' Poll after ranking as high as No. 13 in the country earlier this season and came in at No. 4 in this week's South Central Region rankings.

About the Mountain Lions:
- UCCS moved up one spot to No. 5 in this week's USCA National Coaches' Poll and rank No. 1 in the South Central Region.
- The Mountain Lions are in the midst of a six-match winning streak after taking out Western Colorado (4-0) and Fort Lewis (4-1) last weekend.
- Jadyn LeDoux and Tarah Patterson are tied for the team lead in goals scored (4) while Patterson is also the team leader in assists (5).
- UCCS has spread the wealth all season as 11 different Mountain Lions have contributed goals and seven separate players have added at least two.
- UCCS is 17th in the nation in scoring offense (3.0 goals/game) and tied for sixth in the country with 19 assists as a team.

About the Thunderwolves:
- CSU Pueblo opened conference play with back-to-back road wins at Fort Lewis (2-1) and Western Colorado (2-0) last weekend.
- The Thunderwolves have won three of their last four after stumbling out of the gates with three consecutive non-conference losses to begin the season.
- The Thunderwolves' trio of Madison Jepperson, Cara Siegel, and Lainee Vujcich, have combined for six of the team's seven goals so far this season, scoring two apiece. 
- Westminster is 1-2-3 all-time against CSU Pueblo with the two sides drawing each of the past three contests by a score of 2-2.

Up Next:
The Griffins will return home next weekend as they host Regis on Fri., Oct. 8, at 4:30 p.m., followed by Colorado School of Mines on Sun., Oct. 10, at 12 p.m.
