Rebecca Wheeler each scored as the Griffins defeated MSU Denver on the road to remain undefeated on the season.
The Griffins out shot the Road Runners (1-3-0, 0-1-0 RMAC) 21 to six. Westminster registered 10 shots on goal while MSU Denver registered five on target. The Griffins had nine corner kicks while Denver had none.
The game was tied, 1-1 at half. Westminster got started earlier with a goal in the seventh minute.
Cassidy Orr put the Griffins in front beating MSU Denver's goalkeeper to the right from 12 yards away. The Roadrunners equalized in the 32
nd minute with a goal from Annie Rolf, assisted by Gabriella Gamboa.
The second half played to a scoreless draw until
Brynnae Braun tapped the ball in from a free kick.
Rebecca Wheeler scored off a free kick to provide some insurance for the Griffins.
Dominique Estrada assisted both goals with the free kick.
Naomi Kehl played in goal and recorded four saves, three in the first half.
Aimee Kurfurst led the offensive push with five shots and
Alexa Maple had four with four on target. Braun scored her first goal of the season while Orr and Wheeler netted their first career goal.
The Griffins will host the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs midweek, Wednesday Mar. 31, at 7 pm under the lights on Dumke Field.
