SALT LAKE CITY—The women's volleyball team hosts three matches, beginning Thursday Feb. 25, through Monday, Mar. 1.

The Griffins split the weekend losing the first set, 2-3, and notching their first win ever over UCCS, 3-1. Westminster won a five-set match over Adams State last weekend to record its first conference win of the season.

Match 1 vs Colorado School of Mines | Thursday Feb. 25, 6 pm
The Griffins begin their busy weekend with #6 Colorado School of Mines (5-1, 5-1 RMAC) at 6 pm on Thursday. The Griffins and Orediggers have played five times, with the first match in 2015 when Westminster joined the RMAC and began its transition to become a NCAA DII program. A win this weekend would be Westminster's first over Mines in the five-match history. Westminster has won one set on two occasions (2018 and 2019).
The Orediggers began the season with a win over Fort Lewis. They are on a four-game winning streak since suffering their first loss to MSU Denver.
Match 2 vs Western Colorado | Sunday Feb. 28, 5:30 pm
Westminster leads 5-4 in the series with Western Colorado (1-2, 1-2 RMAC). They've swept the Mountaineers twice (2017 and 2019) and won in four sets three times (2017 and twice in 2018). Western won two five-set decisions (2015 and 2016) and swept twice (2016 and 2019).
Western defeated Adams State for its lone season win. Losses have come at the hands of Colorado Mines and MSU Denver.

Monday's match against Chadron State will be the sixth meeting with the Eagles (2-3, 1-1 RMAC). The Griffins have won twice—a five-set decision (2017) and a four-set decision (2018). Chadron swept the first two matches (2015 and 2016) and won in five the last time the teams met.
