SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster men's basketball (5-4, 3-0 RMAC) finished with a 44-24 edge in points in the paint en route to a 72-57 win over Chadron State (5-6, 1-2 RMAC) on Friday night at the Behnken Field House.

Yusuf Mohamed finished with a team-leading 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting despite exiting the game early with a lower leg injury.  Reme Torbert added 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting and finished at +17 in the plus/minus column.  Brayden Johnson finished the game with a team-leading +19 plus/minus and pulled in five boards and 3-of-6 shooting offensively.

Westminster went into the halftime break with a 16-point, 37-21 lead after holding Chadron State to just 7-of-30 (23 percent) shooting as a unit.  The Griffins held Chadron State to just six points in the paint in the opening half as the Eagles were forced into 4-of-18 (22 percent) three-point shooting in the opening half.

The Griffins led by as many as 25 late in the second half as Westminster continued to dominate fast break and points in the paint chances from start to finish.  After just two points each in the first half, Torbert and Donaval each picked up their offensive game in the second half to finish in double figures.

Westminster is now 8-2 all-time against Chadron State and improve to 6-0 against the Eagles since reinstating the program back in 1999.

The Griffins will be back at home tomorrow night as they host Black Hills State beginning at 7 p.m. back at the Behnken Field House.
