Volleyball Hits the Road for Midweek Contest at NNU

Westminster volleyball will play at Northwest Nazarene on Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m.

SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster volleyball (4-17, 2-10 RMAC) travels to play a midweek nonconference match at Northwest Nazarene (4-14, 2-9 GNAC) on Wednesday night beginning at 5 p.m.

Match Info:
- Wednesday's match will be hosted at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa, Idaho. 
- Tickets are $8 for general admission and can be purchased at the door.
- Live streaming of Wednesday's match will be available on Youtube Live and be accessed here.  Live stats will also be provided by NNU athletics here.

About the Griffins:
- Westminster has seen an improved attack over its most recent stretch of RMAC matches but have lost two of its last three.
- The Griffins went 0-2 on the road last week with a 3-0 loss at CSU Pueblo and a 3-1 loss at UC-Colorado Springs.
- Westminster had a .229 attack percentage against CSU Pueblo, its second-highest mark in the month of October, but allowed CSU Pueblo to hit .377 with 51 kills as a team.
- Lydia Parkinson (Miller) leads the team with 2.3 k/s and Olivia Curtis sits in second with 2.07 k/s.
- Curtis led the Griffins in their 3-0 win over Black Hills Statae with a 13-kill, .813 hitting percentage performance and had a team-high .320 attack percentage with 11 kills last week against CSU Pueblo.
- Setter Bri Mortensen leads the team with 6.76 assists/set while all-around contributor Katie Jacox has added 2.95 assists.  Jacox has a team-leading 31 service aces, 1.5 k/s, 2.54 digs/set and 31 blocks this season.
- Malinda Messner (46) and Avery Alger (40) lead the team in blocks and libero Alanna Lee is at 3.74 digs/set so far this season.

About the Nighthawks:
- The Nighthawks defeated Westminster, 3-1 (25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 26-24), back on Sept. 28 at the Behnken Field House.
- NNU went 0-2 last weekend with a 3-0 loss at No. 19 Western Washington on Thursday and a five-set loss on the road at Simon Fraser.
- NNU has played just four home matches to this point in the season, going 2-2 in those contests.
- Natalie Sullivan leads the team with 3.78 kills/set and Brooke Foster has added 2.9 k/s.  Molly Anderson has a team-leading .227 attack percentage and has added 1.95 kills/set.
- Anna Gable leads the team with 51 blocks on the season while Mckenzie Lee (35) and Taylor Markland (33) are second and third, respectively.
- Libero Caroline McMahon has a team-leading 4.47 digs/set and Molly Anderson is second with 3.10 d/s.
- NNU will play six of its final eight matches of the season at home beginning with Wednesday's match against Westmintser.

Up Next:
Westminster will play two home matches this weekend as it hosts Fort Lewis on Friday night at 6 p.m., followed by Western Colorado on Saturday at 4 p.m.
