Griffins Welcome Texas A&M Kingsville Into Behnken Field House

Westminster will host Texas A&M Kingsville on Wednesday night beginning at 5 p.m.

SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster volleyball (3-13, 1-7 RMAC) will have another one-match break from conference play as it plays hosts to Texas A&M Kingsville (10-2, 5-2 LSC) on Wednesday night beginning at 5 p.m. at the Behnken Field House.

Match Info: 
-  Tickets for all Westminster volleyball home matches can be purchased at westminstergriffins.com/tickets. 
-  General admission into Behnken Field House is $8.
-  Current Westminster College students, faculty and staff are offered free admission into all WC home events but are required to present an active Westminster Identification Card to gain entry. 
-  All Westminster volleyball  matches are available for FREE streaming on the RMAC Network.  Viewers can watch live online or download the RMAC Network app from all major video streaming app stores.

About the Griffins:
- Following back-to-back weekend road trips, Westminster returns to its home court to begin a stretch of three-straight home matches.
- Westminster heads into the week off of a pair of four-set losses last weekend.  The Griffins fell 3-1 to Western Colorado on Friday night and lost by the same margin to Fort Lewis on Saturday afternoon.
- Avery Alger ranks seventh in the RMAC with a .320 hitting percentage.
- Bri Mortensen is eighth in the conference at 7.21 assists/set.
- Katie Jacox is tied for third in the conference with 25 service aces.
- Alanna Lee ranks 12th in the RMAC with 3.78 digs/set.
- Alger also leads the Griffins with 35 total blocks and is tied for the team lead with seven solo blocks.

About Texas A&M Kingsville: 
- The Javelinas travel to Salt Lake City off of back-to-back wins last weekend. Texas A&M Kingsville swept Texas Women's Univ. on Friday night and beat Dallas Baptist, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.
- Texas A&M Kingsville went 8-0 in the month of September to begin the fall 2021 season. The Javelinas went 3-0 to begin conference play without dropping a set against Cameron ,Midwestern State and Texas A&M International, respectively.
- Jackie Alanis leads the team with 3.70 kills/set and begins the new week with a .273 hitting percentage through 12 matches.
- Emily Witt (9.50 a/s) and Madeleine Stolzer (8.27 a/s) each help set the Javelinas' attack while defensive specialist Nicole Mruff leads the team with 5.98 digs/set.
- Ayanna Jackson leads the team with 45 total blocks and eight solo blocks on the season.

Westminster will resume conference play this weekend when it hosts South Dakota Mines on Friday at 6 p.m. and Black Hills State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
