SALT LAKE CITY—The Westminster women's volleyball team begins its season Friday with two matches on the road at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
Originally scheduled for matches against Chadron State and UCCS, the Griffins will play the Mountain Lions twice after changes were made due to COVID-19 protocols. The first match begins at 11 am and will count towards the conference record. The second match will count as a non-conference competition and will begin at 3 pm.

Bri Mortensen were named players to watch as the Griffins were picked 14
th in the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll and Players to Watch list.
Green has led the Griffins in points and kills per set for three seasons (2017-2019). She was second in digs in 2017 and 2019 and third in 2018. Last season she was fourth in conference in kills (3.32/set) and sixth in points (3.84/set). She is closing in on the 1,000 kill milestone with 963 career kills. She is third all-time at Westminster in points (1094.5) and kills. Green was All-RMAC Second Team in 2017, All-Academic First Team in 2018, and All-RMAC Honorable Mention and All-Academic Honor Roll in 2019.
Miller was second on the team in points (2.49) and kills (2.15) per set last season. She is 15th all-time at Westminster with 324 kills. Miller was All-Academic Honor Roll in 2019.
Mortensen joins Westminster as a Transfer from Utah Valley University where she played 96 sets in 28 matches as a freshman in 2018. She was second on the team in assists (423) and assists per set average (4.41) and earned All-WAC Honors.

Series History
Westminster is looking to record its first win over the Mountain Lions. The teams have played six times since their first match on Sep. 18, 2015. The Griffins forced five sets in the series' second match on 10/24/2015.
