GUNNISON, Colo. – Westminster men's basketball lost, 74-67, to Western on Saturday night at Paul Wright Gymnasium, as the Griffins fell to 14-9 overall and 9-8 in conference play.
The Griffins led by four at the half, but the Mountaineers used an 8-0 run to break open a one-point game with 4:28 left in the game. Western led by nine with one minute to play and went 6 for 7 from the line over the last 60 seconds to preserve the win.
Jake Connor led the Griffins with 13 points, and
Jai Jai Ely added 10.
Brandon Warr finished with eight points and 12 rebounds.
Westminster returns home to host Fort Lewis and Adams State next weekend.
