CHADRON, Neb.—Senior
Jai Jai Ely scored a career high 32 points to lead the Griffins to a 83-72 road win over Chadron State Eagles Friday Night. The Griffins improved to 9-5 on the season and 4-4 in the RMAC.
Ely scored 19 first half points to help the Griffins to a four-point lead at the end of the first half. The Griffins shot .607 from the field and made 6-10 from beyond the arc to pull away from the Eagles, leading by as much as 16 points.
The Griffins pulled away from the Eagles with a 14-3 run to begin the second half and cruised to the finish shooting .607 from the field and .600 from beyond the arc.
It was a career night for Ely in points, field goals made, and three-point field goals made. Ely finished the night 11-15 from the field, 3-4 from the stripe and was perfect from three making 7-7.
Alec Monson and
Brandon Warr reached double digit figures. Monson scored a season high 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and tallied four assists. Warr scored 18 and grabbed 10 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the year.
The team finished the night shooting a season high .508 from the field and .522 from beyond the arc.
