Griffins Start RMAC Play with a Pair of Home Matches
Westminster women's volleyball (2-5) begin RMAC competition with two home matches this weekend against South Dakota School of Mines & Technology on Friday, September 20 at 6 pm, and Black Hills State on Saturday, September 21 at 4 pm. Both games will be broadcast on the
RMAC Network.
Scouting the Competition
South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (3-5) is coming off a solid showing at the Huskies Classic in St. Cloud, Minnesota, finishing 2-2 over the two day tournament. The Hardrockers went 1-3 in their first tournament of 2019. Dana Thompson leads the team with 117 kills and Caryn Hazard has chipped in 92. Shyann Bastian has 185 assists. Anna Thomas leads the team with 173 digs and Jocey Koeth has 29 blocks.
Black Hills State (2-6) lost four matches in two days at the Chap Classic in Lubbock, Texas last weekend. The Yellow Jackets started the season 2-2 at the first tournament of 2019. Madison Hoopman has 81 kills and Laurel Lech has 161 assists to pace the Black Hills State attack. Haedyn Rhoades has 138 digs and Peyton Bodemann has 23 blocks to lead the Yellow Jackets' defense.
