SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—The Westminster women's lacrosse team drew a difficult schedule to finish the season, hosting two nationally ranked opponents. The Griffins fell to No. 15 Colorado Mesa (CMU), 20-5.
Westminster scored three goals in a three-minute window after falling behind 4-0 to the visitors.
Lauren Shoughro got the Griffins on the scoreboard,
Madie Ingman scored the team's second goal and
Melissa Reeves scored on a man-up opportunity. Westminster trailed, 3-12, at the half.
Ingman and Shoughro both scored a second goal in the second half to finish Westminster's scoring.
Mikala Davis and
Kinsey Erikson both spent time in the cage and faced 42 shots. Davis logged 50 minutes and made 13 saves. Erikson made two saves in ten minutes.
The Griffins host No. 4 Regis, in their final home game of the season, next Saturday, April 27.
