PUEBLO, Colo. – Despite having five double-digit scorers, Westminster men's basketball lost 84-75 to Colorado State Pueblo on Friday night at Massari Arena.
The Thunderwolves got out to a quick start, taking a nine-point lead at 19-10 six minutes in. The Griffins would battle back to cut the deficit to as little as two points behind 10 points each from
Joonas Tahvanainen and
Jake Connor in the first half, but would enter the locker room down six at halftime.
The Griffins again got within two in the second half, but the Thunderwolves held off every Westminster to secure the win.
David Seimental led all scorers with 23 points for CSU Pueblo. Â
Tahvanainen led Westminster with 18 points.
Brandon Warr added 15,
Jake Connor pitched in 12, and
James Walljasper and
Brandon Willardson scored 10 each.
The Griffins head to New Mexico Highlands to take on the Cowboys tomorrow night. The game will tip at 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on the
RMAC Network.
