SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster men's basketball (7-2, 2-1 RMAC) will hit the road for two games this weekend, continuing conference play at Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday, Dec. 13, and at New Mexico Highlands on Saturday, Dec. 14.
The Griffins are coming off a pair of home victories last weekend over Black Hills State and South Dakota Mines - two games that required late rallies and clutch performances from
Brandon Warr and
Jake Connor.
Warr leads Westminster in scoring and rebounds, averaging 17.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
Jai Jai Ely is putting up 13.9 points per game, and
Jake Connor is adding 11.6 point per contest.
Alec Monson is contributing across the board, averaging 12.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game.
CSU Pueblo (3-5, 1-1 RMAC) is coming over an overtime loss at Fort Lewis, and has lost five of its last six games. David Simental leads the Wolfpack in scoring at 16.5 points per game.
New Mexico Highlands (6-1, 1-1 RMAC) lost its first non-exhibition game of the season at Adams State last weekend. The Cowboys had started the season 6-0, with a pair of losses in exhibition contests. New Mexico Highlands has two of top three scorers in the conference, with Sammy Barnes Thompkins leading the RMAC at 24.7 points per game, and Raquan Mitchell averaging 21.1 points per game, third most in the conference.
Both games are scheduled to tip of at 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on the
RMAC Network.
