Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Friday's game against Western Colorado University was moved and played at Colorado Mesa due to storms in Gunnison, Colo.. The change didn't disrupt the Griffins (10-3-3, 7-3-2 RMAC) as they scored four to defeat the Mountaineers.
Aimee Kurfurst got the ball rolling for the Griffins with a goal in the 11
th minute followed by
Skye Jefferies in the 28
th minute, assisted by
Emma Heyn, to make it 2-0.
The Griffins didn't let up in the second half, out shooting the Mountaineers 15-1 with eight shots on goal. Heyn made it 3-0 in the 75
th minute and goalkeeper
Hillary Weixler scored from a set piece in the final minute to cap the night off.
Westminster took a total of 27 shots with 14 on goal and held their opponent to just three shots.
"We played fantastic for a full 90 minutes," Head Coach
Tony LeBlanc said.
Westminster finishes the regular season against Colorado Mesa on Sunday.
