Women's Soccer Score Four In Road Win Over Mountaineers

Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Friday's game against Western Colorado University was moved and played at Colorado Mesa due to storms in Gunnison, Colo.. The change didn't disrupt the Griffins (10-3-3, 7-3-2 RMAC) as they scored four to defeat the Mountaineers.

Aimee Kurfurst got the ball rolling for the Griffins with a goal in the 11th minute followed by Skye Jefferies in the 28th minute, assisted by Emma Heyn, to make it 2-0.

The Griffins didn't let up in the second half, out shooting the Mountaineers 15-1 with eight shots on goal. Heyn made it 3-0 in the 75th minute and goalkeeper Hillary Weixler scored from a set piece in the final minute to cap the night off.

Westminster took a total of 27 shots with 14 on goal and held their opponent to just three shots.

"We played fantastic for a full 90 minutes," Head Coach Tony LeBlanc said.

Westminster finishes the regular season against Colorado Mesa on Sunday.
