SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—Men's basketball wins thrilling overtime game against Chadron State, 93-86.
Westminster opened the game with a 7-0 run and led for 14 minutes of the first half. Chadron nearly finished the half with the lead but a pair of jumpers in the final minute by
James Walljasper gave the lead back to Westminster, 28-27.
The lead changed four times and the score was tied five as both teams battled for control in the second half. The Griffins led by six with 30 seconds remaining in the half, but Chadron came back within three with two seconds remaining. A foul, on a three-point attempt, and a technical gave the visitors five chances to win but they only managed to make three, forcing overtime.
The Griffins scored 18 points to win, going 12-16 from the free-throw line.
Brandon Warr led the Griffins with 29 points. He scored 16 in the second half and was 3-4 from beyond the arc and 3-3 from the charity stripe. In overtime he went scored eight points and went 6-7 from the stripe.
Jacob McCord recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. McCord was 6-12 from the field and 6-9 form the free throw line.

Jai Jai Ely and
James Walljasper each put up 11 points.
Jake Connor scored eight and
Joonas Tahvanainen scored six to round out the scoring.
The Griffins play MSU Denver, at home, on Saturday at 5:30 pm.
