GRIFFINS NOTEBOOK: Women’s Soccer Host First Round of RMAC Tournament

THIS WEEK
What a season it's been for the Westminster Griffins Women's Soccer as they wrapped up their 2018 regular season with a 3-1 victory over Colorado Mesa. With a record of 10-2-1 in their first ever season as a member of NCAA Division Two the Griffins finished third in the conference standings. After finishing the season in third place the Griffins earned an opportunity to host round one of the RMAC Tournament on Oct. 30 when they face the Regis Rangers at 3:00 PM MDT with the action on the RMAC Network.

LAST TIME THEY MET
Last time these two team met it was in Denver, Colorado on Sept. 23 as the game went to overtime where it was a very evened match throughout as each team scored back and forth with Regis scoring the first goal at the 27thminute and then Abby Keeley evened the score at the 43rdminute to end the first half. The second half the Rangers once again took early lead with a goal by Cat Devitt four minutes into the second half, but the Griffins clawed back with a goal by Libby Dearden which sent the game into overtime. Aimee Kurfurst scored the game winning goal five minutes into overtime to secure the victory for the Westminster Griffins.

SCOUTING RANGERS
The Rangers enter the RMAC Tournament as the sixth seed when they travel to Salt Lake City with a record of 7-5-1.
