Westminster University Athletics

PORTLAND, Oregon – Westminster (0-4) fell 3-1 (25-16, 17-25, 25-22, 25-13) in the final match Saturday at the Concordia Labor Day Tournament to Cal-State Dominguez Hills. The stat count was fairly even throughout the match, with the Griffins totaling 37 kills hitting .071 with 51 digs, 10 aces and six blocks in the defeat. 

Audrey Green led the Griffins with 12 kills hitting .357 along with Taylor Harvey adding eight kills and Whitney Wakefield with seven.  Jaylee Lehenbauer ended the match with 12 digs and Taylor Gustafson led with 17 assists.    
  
Freshmen Audrey Green was named to the All-Tournament team in her first collegiate tournament.

The Griffins return home next Friday and Saturday as they host the 2017 Westminster Invitational in the Behnken Field House.  On Friday the Griffins face West Alabama in a 2:00 pm match and Western New Mexico in a 6:00 pm matchup.  Tournament tickets can be purchased online or at the door for each day of the event.
