Box Score BURNABY, B.C., – The Westminster women's soccer team (3-1) earned a 2-1 victory over Simon Fraser (2-2) from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference securing a sweep on their first road trip of the season after defeating St. Martins (2-0) on Friday.

The Griffins opened the scoring in the 71st minute when, off a free kick,
Gabriella Sorensen flicked a shot in from the left side past the keeper. Â The Griffins continued to build on their lead six minutes later when
Jayne Christensen flew in a free kick from 30 yards out and into the lower right corner. It was Christensen's first of the season, making the score 2-0.
SFU's lone goal came two minutes from full-time chipping the ball just over
Breanna Empey who made five saves in the win off SFU's 10 shots.

Westminster had seven shots with five on goal, two corner kicks and 12 fouls.Â

The Griffins turn their attention this week to Dixie State and the RMAC home opener verse Colorado Mesa.  The Griffins travel south to take on in-state rival Dixie State this Friday in a 3:00 pm match up from St. George.  Fans can follow the action live via
