Five Game Road Trip Winding Down

Westminster Volleyball (6-15, 3-10 RMAC) will wrap up it's five game road trip at Western State and Colorado Mesa. The Griffins will play Western State on Thursday at 7:00 PM and Colorado Mesa on Saturday at 7:00 PM. The team is winless in their last five matches but is eager to break that streak. The team won it's first road match, 3-2, on Saturday against Fort Lewis

Last Week in Review
The Griffins went 1-2 last week winning 3-2 against Fort Lewis and losing  3-1 to both CSU-Pueblo and Adams State. The win against Fort Lewis is the first road win of the season for the team.
The Griffins played CSU-Pueblo on Tuesday. The Griffins split the first two sets with the Thunderwolves, losing 25-23 in the first set and winning 25-19 in the second set. The third set was very close but the Griffins were unable to get the win, losing 25-23. With the momentum on their side, the Thunderwolves won the fourth set 25-20 and the match 3-1.
Adams State took an early two set lead on Thursday, winning the first set 25-20 and the second set 25-19. The Griffins bounced back and won the third set 25-22. The Grizzlies denied the chance of a comeback, winning the fourth set 25-19 and the match 3-1.

Saturday's match aginst Fort Lewis was a bit of a teeter totter as both teams traded wins through the first four sets. Fort Lewis won the first and third sets, 25-22 both sets, and Westminster won sets two and four, 25-17 and 26-24. The Griffins held the lead the entire time in the fifth set and won the set 15-8 and the match 3-2.

Western State has an overall record 2-19 and a conference record 1-11. Last week Western defeated South Dakota Mines 3-1 and lost to Black Hills State 2-3. Jordan Eatwell leads teh attack for Western with 183 kills and a hitting percentage of .106. Taylor Ferrel has 121 kills and a .211 hitting percentage. Franek logan has 36 service aces and 287 digs on the season.
Colorado Mesa defeated both their opponents last week in three straight sets.  MacKenzie Edwards has 298 kills and a .247 hitting percentage. Katie Scherr has a.138 hitting percentage and 155 kills. Samantha Ritter has 761 assists and 213 digs while Taylor Woods has 362 digs on the year.

The team will return home for the remainder of the season playing the last three of the regular season games at Behnken Field House. The Griffins will play New Mexico Highlands on Friday, November 3, at 6:00 PM and CSU-Pueblo on Saturday, November 4, at 4:00 PM.  The games will be broadcast on the
RMACÂ Network and available on live stats.
