ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Westminster women's lacrosse team closed out their inaugural Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference road trip by falling to No. 3 Lindenwood 17-1 on Tuesday night at Hunter Stadium.

Westminster (1-2, 1-1 RMAC) fell behind in the opening minute and didn't have an answer for one of the top teams in the country. Lindenwood (5-0, 2-0) led 12-0 at halftime and scored the first 15 goals of the game.
Katie Adams would stop the run with her seventh goal of the season with 11:08 to play.

The Griffins would only manage nine shots in the loss and the committed 15 turnovers. The Lions took 36 shots and had a 14-6 advantage in draw controls.

Adams led Westminster with four shots and was the only Griffin to get more than one shot attempt.
Daisy Mele led the team with three draw controls while
Annelise Preite had a team-best three ground balls.

Taylor Hekking suffered the loss in cage after allowing 16 goals and making seven saves.
Caitlyn Laffey allowed the final goal and made one stop.

Amanda Schimpke led the Lions with four goals on five shots. Jenna Battaglini scored three times and Rachel Ortell earned the win in goal with four saves.

The Griffins will now have 10 days off before facing Brigham Young in an exhibition game on March 19 in Provo, Utah.
