SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Westminster women's basketball team had its three-game winning streak snapped with a 55-46 loss at Black Hills State in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Saturday night.

Westminster (10-13, 7-12 RMAC) trailed by one heading to the fourth quarter when they were outscored 14-6 by Black Hills State (19-4, 16-3). The home team scored nine of the game's final 12 points after the Griffins got within 46-43 with 6:07 to play.

It was a tough shooting night for the Griffins as they made just 17 baskets and shot 33.3 percent from the floor. They were able to keep the game close by making 8 of 17 from beyond the arc ad forcing 16 turnovers.

Aubire Vale scored 16 points to lead the Griffins in scoring. She made 4 of 6 from three and grabbed five rebounds.

Black Hills State finished the night shooting 40.4 percent and they scored 24 points in the paint and forced 21 Griffin turnovers.

The Griffins would get 14 points and five rebounds from
Denise Gonzalez.
Whitni Syrett made her first start of the season and scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Yellow Jackets got a team-high 14 points apiece from Bailey Kusser and Rachel Erickson.
