SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's lacrosse team overcame a two-goal second half deficit and rallied to defeat Brigham Young, 14-10, on Friday evening at Dumke Field.

Westminster (4-2) twice trailed by two goals, including an 8-6 gap with 16:38 to play in the second half. The Griffins then took the game over by scoring eight-straight goals to open a 14-8 advantage with 5:29 on the clock.
Maggie HerrNeckar scored three times during the spurt and she finished the game with four goals.

The Griffins scored nine times in the second half while holding BYU (4-9) to just five goals in the period. Westminster took 30 shots on the day with 24 on goal while also posting a 19-7 edge in draw controls.

HerrNeckar took a team-best seven shots and added an assist for five points and she had eight draw controls.
Katie Adams scored four times and
Maddie Haynes added three goals.

Makenzie Hekking earned the win in cage by making nine saves.

This is the Griffins first win over the Cougars in eight outings.

BYU got four goals from Whitney Sieverts – three in the first half – and she tallied two assists for six points.

Westminster returns to action on March 27 when they travel to Orem, Utah, to face Utah Valley.
