Westminster Home for Final Two Games of the Season

The Westminster men's soccer team will spend the final week of the season at home for a pair of games. They begin the week by hosting Regis University on Friday at 4 p.m. The Griffins will then welcome South Dakota Mines to Dumke Field on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the final game of the year.
 
Westminster will recognize the team's senior class in a brief ceremony prior to the start of Sunday's game. Tickets are available for both games by visiting WestminsterGriffins.com/tickets.

ABOUT WESTMINSTER
Westminster enters the final week of the season at 2-11-1 overall and they are 1-7-1 in RMAC action. They are currently tied for ninth in the conference standings with four points. The Griffins are looking to snap a four-game losing skid and they have gone 1-5-1 at Dumke Field this season.
 
The Griffins have scored 10 goals this season and they average 0.71 goals per game to rank ninth in the RMAC. They are attempting 7.1 shots per outing with 42 percent of those shots on goal. The team has taken 42 corner kicks and tallied five assists. They begin the week having scored in a season high three consecutive goals.
 
Westminster has given up 36 goals on the season and opponents are taking 17.7 shots per game and putting 49.6 percent of them on frame. The Griffins have a 2.52 goals-against-average and they have made 87 saves with a .707 save percentage. Opponents have outscored the Griffins 20-2 in the first half of games and have tallied 33 assists.
 
Jonnathan Rodriguez leads the Griffins with three goals and six points. Rodriguez has tallied one game-winning-goal and has put seven of his 12 shot attempts on goal. Hunter Kone is second among the Griffins with two goals and four points. Jordan Jones, Matthew Warne and Ivan Lezama have one goal and one assist apiece. The Griffins have also gotten goals from Aaron Rees and Finn Townsley this season.
 
Taylor Ruff has started nine games in goal and gone 1-7-1 in those outings. He has made 58 saves to rank seventh in the conference while ranking second by making 6.44 saves per game. Ruff has a 2.69 GAA and .699 save percentage. Sean Lyne has made five starts with a 2.20 GAA and .703 save percentage.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
• Regis
– The Rangers come to town at 5-9 overall this season and 3-6 in RAMC play. They are seventh in the conference standings with nine points and will miss out on the conference tournament. Regis is scoring 1.57 goals per game this season and they take 15.79 shots per contest. They have a team GAA of 1.46 and .767 save percentage.
 
Regis has gone 11-3-1 all-time against the Griffins and they are 2-0-1 in games played in Salt Lake City. Regis defeated the Griffins, 4-0, on September 27 in Denver.
 
• South Dakota Mines – The Hardrockers enter the season's final week at 1-14-1 overall and 1-8 in conference play. They are 1th in the RMAC standings with three points and they have been eliminated from postseason competition. SDSMT is 0-6 on the road this season and they are on a nine-game losing streak. They average 0.88 goals per game with a team GAA at 2.80.
 
Sunday will mark the first-ever meeting between the Griffins and Hardrockers.
