HELENA, Mont. – The Westminster women's volleyball team dropped its second-straight Frontier Conference match on Saturday, falling in four sets at Carroll (Mont.) at the Carroll P.E. Center.

Westminster fall to 6-9 overall this season and 0-2 in the Frontier with the 16-25, 25-18, 17-25, 15-25 loss. Carroll moves to 9-6 and 2-0 with the victory.

After hitting just .088 in the opening set loss, the Griffins responded in set two with 13 kills and no errors to finish the frame hitting .333. They added another 14 kills in the third set, but closed the match by hitting negative-.067 in the fourth set to lose the match.

Carroll had a 56-44 edge in total kills during the match and they hit .220 to the Griffins .132. The home squad also posted a 92-88 advantage in digs with eight aces to Westminster's three.

Jessica Chellsen led all Griffins with 12 kills and finished the night hitting .200. Amara Culpepper added nine kills and five blocks to her .316 hitting while Alexis Aalona had nine kills and 18 digs. Megan Gallegos posted a career-high 26 digs with Alyse Horton getting 14 and Jacey Saunders and Taylor Gustafson nothing 10 apiece.

Kathleen Mulligan and Crystal Schmidt each finished with 14 kills to lead all players while Calli Prestwood hit .409 with 10 kills.

After playing the first 15 matches of the season away from home, the Griffins will welcome Montana Western to the Behnken Field House for the home opener on Friday at 7 p.m. MT.
