Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College women's soccer continued its dominance at Dumke Field with a 4-0 win over Great Falls (Mont.) on Sunday afternoon.
Westminster is now 5-5 on the season and they are 1-0 in Frontier Conference play with the victory. Great Falls falls to 2-5-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Griffins opened the afternoon's scoring in the ninth minute from an
Abby Holbrook throw-in. Her throw was tapped by
Lexi Tucker to the foot of
Nicole Carter who fired a shot into the net for her third goal of the season and second of the weekend.
Tucker would notch a second assist in the game when her corner kick in the 14th minute would find the head of Miranda Miner in the penalty area. Miner would redirect the ball into the goal for the first goal of her career.
Abigail Black would give the Griffins a 3-0 lead in the first half as she blasted a shot from 30 yards away that would find the back of the net in the 23rd minute for her second goal of the season.
Tiana Cerciello would add her second goal of the season in the 83rd minute to make the final tally 4-0.
Westminster had a 19-4 advantage in shot attempts with 15 of those on goal. They attempted nine corner kicks while only giving up three corners to UGF.
Abi Yanke earned the win in goal and notched her second consecutive shutout. She has now gone 191 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal over the past three games.
The Griffins remain at home next week where they are 5-1 on the season. William Jessup (Calif.) comes to town on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
