Eighth-Ranked Cougars Hand Griffins Second Straight Loss

Box Score OCEANSIDE, Calif. – The Westminster College men's basketball team dropped a second straight game with a 77-55 loss against No. 8 Cal State San Marcos on Wednesday night at the CSUSM Holiday Classic.

The game changed when Cal State San Marcos (11-1) turned a nine point halftime advantage into an 18 point advantage with an 11-1 run to open the second half. Westminster (7-6) shot just 30.4 percent from the floor after intermission and they missed all seven of their attempts from beyond the arc.

Tallon Robertson led the Griffins with 19 points on an 8-of-12 shooting night. After scoring just two points the night before, Robertson also grabbed six rebounds with two assists. Quincy Bair added 10 points for Westminster while Colton Moon and Adam Egan scored seven points apiece.

Jason Johnson led four Cougars in double figures with 23 points, including five treys. Malcolm Lemmons added 15 points and three triples of his own.

Westminster will take Thursday off as they travel to Angwin, Calif. for a game at Pacific Union (Calif.) on Friday afternoon.
