Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – The Westminster College women's soccer team played Rocky Mountain (Mont.) to a 1-1 tie in double overtime on Sunday afternoon at Wendy's Field.
Rocky Mountain (6-3-2, 0-0-1 Frontier) took advantage of an own goal in the opening minutes to take an early 1-0 lead. They would maintain that lead through halftime and into the 59th minute. That is when Miranda Miner tallied her second goal of the season to draw Westminster (6-6-1, 1-0-1) even. The goal was created from a pass by
Brianna Wilson and her first assist of the year.
The Griffins had a 10-6 edge in shots during the game. Miner led the team with four attempts while
Jessica Harris and
Heidi Lorschider took two shots apiece.
Abi Yanke made seven saves in goal to preserve the tie.
Westminster will return to Montana next weekend for a pair of games. The first of those comes at Carroll (Mont.) on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
