Westminster Shutout in Loss at Great Falls

Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Westminster College men's soccer team wrapped up Frontier Conference play with a 3-0 loss at Great Falls (Mont.) on Sunday afternoon at the Siebel Soccer Park.

Great Falls (8-5-1, 2-0 Frontier) opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Luis Torres scored the first of his two goals on an assist by Alex Mendez. Danny Delgadillo would make it 2-0 in the 28th minute on a goal that was assisted by Torres. The final goal of the game came from Torres in the 49th minute from Andy Sandoval.

Westminster (6-9, 0-4) took five shots in the game with three of them on goal. Ryan Smith took two of those attempts and had them both on frame. Trenton Petersen also took two shots. Logan Butzier made two saves before being replaced in net by Sean Lyne in the 74th minute.

The Griffins will spend next weekend in California where they play two games. The trip begins at Bethesda (Calif.) on Friday at 4:30 p.m. MDT.
